Welcome to the 2009 summer swim season! I am excited about our summer swim program and looking forward to our time together at the pool! We have hired our coaches for the season, Andrew Reeves, who is a graduate of Vestavia Hills High School and currently swimming for the Alabama Crimson Tide. And returning coach Kimberly Smith also of Vestavia Hills High School and previously swam for BSL. Both will be great for our children! As our numbers continue to grow, which they do every day, we will hopefully add a third coach to the team. We already have someone very interested in the position. We have also changed our team mascot to the Tiger Sharks! While the name sounds tough,we hope our team will be equally as tough! Registration is going on now for the AVCC swim team so tell your friends all about it! Our Open House and Registration will be this Thursday April 30th from 4-6PM at the AVCC Clubhouse. Come by to handle your registration, shopping and volunteer opportunities in one convenient place! Forms are available online by going to the "Info" button on the navigation bar to your left! Team swimsuits will be remaining the same which is the Titan Splash by TYR. The club colors are red and black so we have opted to stick with that color combination. Suits may be purchased at Homewood sporting goods or Dicks Sporting goods. Speedo also makes a similar suit that can ometimes be found at Sams wholesale club. |
